line-height: 1.5em;">La banda definida con los 5 integrantes comenzó a mediados de julio de 2010 en <a href="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Carlos" title="San Carlos" style="text-decoration: none; color: rgb(11, 0, 128); background-image: none; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial;">San Carlos</a>, con sus primeros ensayos en el garaje de la casa de Fernando. Con ganas de iniciar un proyecto musical diferente, trataron de integrar sonidos característicos de videojuegos al género al que están influenciados, que es el pop punk.</p><p style="margin: 0.4em 0px 0.5em; line-height: 1.5em;">El inicio de la banda surgió semanas antes de que comenzara el concurso nacional de bandas amateurs de Pepsi Bandplugged, en el cual se inscribieron y comenzaron con sus primeras tres canciones: <i>Tiempo de Cambiar</i> , <i>1up</i> y "Ultimo Nivel" (éstas incluidas en el EP que dieron a conocer tiempo más tarde).</p><p style="margin: 0.4em 0px 0.5em; line-height: 1.5em;">Llegaron a destacarse como finalistas entre las mejores 5 de 220 bandas inscriptas en el concurso, lo que les dio un impulso y mayor difusión de su material musical a oyentes en corto plazo.</p><p style="margin: 0.4em 0px 0.5em; line-height: 1.5em;">En el periodo que la banda participaba del concurso anteriormente nombrado, se presentan en otro conocido como Debutoque, donde resultan ganadores, siendo ésta una de las primeras dos presentaciones de la banda.</p><p style="margin: 0.4em 0px 0.5em; line-height: 1.5em;">En el verano del 2011 participo del Summer Beach Tour organizado por <a href="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pepsi" title="Pepsi" style="text-decoration: none; color: rgb(11, 0, 128); background-image: none; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial;">Pepsi</a> para las bandas finalistas del concurso Pepsi Bandplugged 2010, recorriendo las costas del Este del país uruguayo, junto a bandas renombradas en el ambiente musical.</p><p style="margin: 0.4em 0px 0.5em; line-height: 1.5em;">El 30 de mayo de 2011 Gamepad lanza su primer EP <i>Tiempo de Cambiar</i> .</p><p style="margin: 0.4em 0px 0.5em; line-height: 1.5em;">El 30 de julio del mismo año Gamepad gana el 1er puesto en el concurso del programa de televisión llamado <a href="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/MTV" title="MTV" style="text-decoration: none; color: rgb(11, 0, 128); background-image: none; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial;">MTV</a> Ourstage, organizado con base en Colombia; destacándose entre más de 400 bandas de Latinoamérica como mejor banda amateur, por votación del público, también con mención especial por ser la mejor banda de rock de habla hispana.</p><p style="margin: 0.4em 0px 0.5em; line-height: 1.5em;">El 20 de noviembre de 2011 Gamepad participa del concurso Vigía Rock, resultando ganadores.</p><p style="margin: 0.4em 0px 0.5em; line-height: 1.5em;">Así clasifican al Festival Punta Rock, el evento de mayor importancia en el departamento de Maldonado. Este se llevó a cabo los días 3 y 4 de marzo de 2012 donde participaron de una experiencia inolvidable junto a bandas extranjeras como también bandas nacionales.
